June Favourites-27/06/15

Welcome back lovely people! Can hardly believe it's time for June favourites already. This month absolutely flew!

We'll jump right into it anyways :)

1. My trip to the Gaeltacht.

One word:WOW! I was in Ballyferriter and everything went just how I wanted it. Amazing food, amazing people and amazing classes. I surprised myself with how much I actually learned. My teacher was top notch and I couldn't have asked for a nicer bean an tí. If you are on the fence about going I would advise you to just go for it. You get as much out of it as you put in! If you'd like to hear more about my time in a blog do please let us know :)

2. Soap and Glory Face Soap and Clarity 3 in-1 Daily Detox Vitamin C Facial Wash

I had been keeping an eye out for a nice face wash because I wanted to try a new one and my face had become very irritated with loads of blemishes. I knew this one has a great reputation but I couldn't find it anywhere. Once I started to use it my face cleared up( I think it was the combination of this and sudocrem). Your face will feel really fresh and pure after using this. I found mine in Boots in Tralee and I haven't looked back since! Retails at €9.50

3.MannyMua-YouTube

I have been loving this guy for so long, he had to get a mention this month! He is the main reason I bought  the soap and glory face wash, I totally trust his opinion. He does makeup tutorials on YouTube and is such a lovely,honest, funny guy. He is so successful and deserves every bit of it! Check him out: https://www.youtube.com/user/MannyMua733 

4.Catfish and the Bottlemen-Homesick

Was introduced to this song from one of my closest friends from the Gaeltacht. I won't say anymore, just trust me and look it up ;)

5.Penneys exfoliation gloves

These are great for a good scrub of the skin and are so easy to use because they are gloves. My ones are pink and I love them :D

6.Revlon cream blush

I use this with the Real Techniques Stippling brush and it works like a dream. It's great for a subtle pop of colour during the summery months!

Yeah I know this is like so last year but they have recently updated it and it is so much better! Loads of new categories and new layout, give it a go :)

10.Brogues

These are perfect with a summery dress or some cropped pants! Been wearing these the most this month! I got mine in Penneys ages ago and they are still going strong!

My Night Time Skin Care Routine-24/06/2015

Hi guys! Feels like years since I've been on here. Had the most amazing time at the Gaeltacht and met some incredible people! It was weird not blogging but it's all back to normal now :)

Today's one will be a short one so here we go: my night time skincare routine :) enjoy!

1. Removal

If I've been wearing make up that day I like to use the Nivea Gentle Facial Cleansing wipes firstly. They work extremely well and smell class! I follow up with the Garnier Micellar Cleansing water with some cotton pads, which gets rid of anything that may be left over. I sometimes use the water by itself and works just as well!

2. Prep

I absolutely love the Benefit Moisture Prep Toning Lotion. It wakes up the skin and allows your moisturiser to work better! Not too thick and has a gorgeous smell.

3.Night cream

I love the No7 Early Defence Night Cream.It's is lovely and creamy but isn't too heavy or oily. It dries quickly into the skin and makes my skin lovely and smooth. I use the day cream in the morning and I feel these too work really well together!

4.Eye cream

I get desperate lines underneath my eyes from all the laughing I do so I love to use the No7 Early Defence Eye Cream.You only need a pea sized amount and it works really well.

5. Sudocrem

This is an absolute LIFE SAVER for me. I'll pop it on a spot or problem area and it works wonders! Very reasonable price and is available in most supermarkets and chemists. Has a great reputation as well so definitely try it!

6. Good nights sleep

This step is just as, if not more,important than all the lotions and potions. If you don't have a good nights sleep your skin will look and feel tired and drained. So get your beauty sleep!

Alex and Ani 20/06/2015

Hey guys! Its the weeeekeeeeend!!! And the sun is shining! What more could you ask for! (Except for a new blog from Sunflowers and Sparkles of course!) Today's blog is going to be about our favourite accessory, Alex and Ani's. Not only are these super super pretty, but they are also so affordable as they all come in at about €36 euro each. The first four are the ones I own and I'll post some of my favourites also! A perfect way to 'jazz up' any outfit and also the perfect gift for any fashion forward lady!

This is the December birthstone and also my personal favourite. Oh so pretty!

This was my first ever Alex And Ani - given to me by my dad. Ever since I have LOVED the bracelets!




As you probably already know, each alex and ani has a different meaning. The swan will help you glide through your life.

My final Alex and Ani was one I Was looking to get for a very long time. It was in huge demand as look how pretty it is! I was a very happy girl when I woke up to it under the tree on Christmas morning I can tell you!

I have seen this one on a lot of people and I think it is so so fab. If you are ever feeling down you could look at your bracelet and just remember that everything really does happen for a reason.




If you are a Disney lover (let's face it, what girl isn't?) this is the one for you! This can be bought in the Disney store and when I found it I just thought it was the cutest Alex and Ani Ever!! Defo one for the wish list.

My final favourite is this beauty. I mean how could you resist this? So so pretty and I'll be on the search very soon!!

HD brows review! 17/06/2015

Hello my pal, welcome back to Sunflowers and Sparkles. We are a little bit miserable here today because the weather has took a turn for the worse. But you have to make the best of a bad situation I suppose, so what a day to go internet shopping!!

Today's blog is something a little different. A review is something that has never been done on the blog before,  but today that will all change. As you probably saw on our Facebook page, I just got my new HD brows. I got them done with the AMAZING Kate Lewis @ Blink, Liscarroll. I don't think you could even Imagine how nervous I was, but believe me, there was absolutely no need to be. I was in the best hands with Kate and the outcome was amazing. I would recommend to anyone half thinking about getting HD brows done, just to book an appointment at BLINK.

Going into my appointment I had no idea what to expect. But wow I was happily surprised. It was such a calm atmosphere and I immediately felt so relaxed. Kate had the warmest welcome for us all and a huge smile on her face at the door. What more could you ask for?

The brows themselves didn't take too long. Kate waxed, threaded and tinted my brows to make them so so so amazing! I am sooooo in love!

I know this blog was so short, I just wanted to show ye all what ye are missing out on by not booking your HD brows appointment!

Handbags at bargain prices! 13/06/2015

Hey guys! Hope everyone is in good form today because BABY ITS THE WEEKEND! I hope everyone isn't going too wild this Saturday night! Today's blog is something we haven't really focused on too much since we started. Today's blog is about handbags. Now, you are either into your handbags or your not. However here at Sunflowers and Sparkles, oh we are! From Michael Kors to Prada, our wish list is a mile long. (The bigger the handbag, the better the handbag) But today we are going to show you some fab handbags, that are thankfully on the cheaper side of the scale. Enjoy pretties!

 

This beauty is such a good one for everyday. Such a practical colour and the perfect size. This is selling in River Island at the moment for just €60.00. River Island handbags are such good quality too! (and most come with matching purses)

Again this handbag is also from River Island, but this is slightly less practical as it is so white and would get marked very easily. We fell in love with it though, because look how pretty it is! €65.00.




Ladies as we all know, the more simple the handbag is, the better. This is so gorgeous and would be the perfect one to fire things into at work or out for the day shopping. And to top it all of, it is a complete bargain at just €39.99 in H&M. Go quick because I don't think this will last long!



Last but not least, and the bargain of the week! This bag is selling in Minx & Wildpair Tralee for just €49.95. I mean wow!! I know I will be buying this one!

Topshop Haul. 10/06/2015

Hey Sparklers! So it's another Wednesday and another blog. So today I was at the dentist (ew I know) , but as ye well know, there is an upside to everything, and the upside to this was I went shopping! (Not that I needed an excuse to go shopping). For a while now I have been looking for another good pair of Jeans. My last pair of jeans were from River Island and I was a little disappointed that they didn't come in a 'short' length. So today I decided to try Topshop and was amazed when I found a 'Petite' section. While I was there of course I couldn't resist buying a few tops ;)

As you probably already saw on our Facebook, I also went to Penny's and picked up a few bits at a SUPER cheap price. Enjoy Ladies, Pics and Prices will be posted below :)

  

Here are my new #1 go to good jeans, they were a very reasonable price at only €50, and are so so so comfy!

Thought this top was so simple and pretty and would be perfect with any casual look. So easy to wear and even more pretty! Only €29.

The final item I bought in Topshop is this black and green top. Again, this is perfect for over my new high waisted jeans and a perfect one to just throw on when you';re going shopping or out with friends. This was a little cheaper at €26.

Finally to tie the outfit together (and make it a little more ''summery'', I couldn't resist these babies in Penny's for just €10!!!! Oh so pretty!

Favourite Kimonos from the High Street this summer. 06/06/2015

Hey gorgeous! Another day, another blog.. what can we say? Time flies when you're having fun eh? ;) So as you probably already know, Kimonos are a HUGE trend this summer (and we are in LOVE). So to celebrate this, today we are going to show you our favourite Kimonos              from the high street shops this season. From Mid length to patterned, I'm sure you too have your favourites! 

 

We fell in love with this beauty the minute we saw it. What could be better that incorporating two huge summer trends (Kimonos and tassels) into one? This Kimono is a little on the expensive side at €55 from River Island, but we all have to treat ourselves sometimes, don't we ladies?!

Next up is a little different A long sleeve Kimono! Perfect for our Irish weather of for those women that don't like showing their arms. This Kimono is currently in New look and is selling at the very reasonable price of €29.99.  Perfect for going shopping, going to the beach, or especially the perfect item for your suitcase. Who could resist clothes that don't wrinkle?




Now for my personal favourite. I am 100% going to buy this for myself. I mean wow! This is such a pretty one and look at that detailing! For only €24.99 in H&M, how could anyone resist this baby? I have just fallen in love!




Zara has always been a go to shop for Festival wear, and this summer they are no different! Heading to electric picnic this year? This is the perfect Kimono for you! It is a little different to our other choices as it is Mid-Length but we are loving the print! And at €39.95, the quality will be top notch!





Last but not least........
Once again we are in love! Miss Guided are well known for their girly little fashion pieces, and this Kimono is a winner for sure! Such a good way to add a splash of colour to your wardrobe this Summer. €35.00 from Miss Guided. Another one we will be buying very soon!

Key trends for Summer 2015. 03/06/2015

Hey gorgeous! So today is the day that the exams start. And you know as well as me what that means?! SUN, SUN, SUN! So to celebrate this, today's blog is going to be about our favourite trends for spring summer. Edel and I are trying to wear as much of these trends as we can (even if it is hard with the bad weather we are having). If there are some Summer 2015 trends that you are a huge fan of and we have not featured them here, never hesitate to leave a comment below!

1. Yellow. Yellow is going to be a huge trend this summer and here at Sunflowers and Sparkles, this is one we are really trying to embrace. Even if you have one key yellow piece (like I have) you can wear it with anything. Below is how I styled it but everyone has their own taste and what they feel comfortable wearing! You might think this colour is a little bold for your liking, but trust us, it will be a real winner! Denim jackets are also a HUGE trend at the moment, so you know us, we always try to embrace it all ;) 

2. Jumpsuits. Jumpsuits have always been a major trend on the catwalk, and this season it's no different. No matter what your budget, there will be a jumpsuit for you. Yes, we will agree that it is alot easier to pull one of these off if you are a taller lady (Therefore I won't be sporting one any time soon) but even if you are on the smaller side, it will still look great. From River Island to Penny's there will be a jumpsuit for you! The first jumpsuit it below is from ASOS and retails at just €38.35! Perfect for any night out or perhaps a day out with the girls! The second jumpsuit is a little more suitable for a party or an event as it is more dressy. This beaut is from top shop and is a little more expensive at €50 but so worth it!! 
    

3. Denim. Let's be honest here ladies, denim has never gone out of fashion. From jeans, to jackets, to shirts, we all at least have one key piece in our wardrobe. This summer the 'double denim' look is back in fashion. Now, it's not many people that will be brave enough to pull this one off, but if you are one of the few, here are a few pieces that you will be needing in your wardrobe. (My favourite are the dungarees for sure!!)

Also, denim comes in a wide range of colours, so pick your fav!


          



4. Blazers.  A Blazer is definitely the best thing you could invest in. Throw a blazer over anything and it will make an outfit look that bit more smart. These are our favourite blazers from ASOS all retailing under €50. We want them all! Go quick if one of these catches your eye as I'm sure they will sell out in record time they are so pretty.


  


5. White on white. Nothing says summer more than a pair of white jeans and a white blazer. Topshop has gorgeous white jeans in at the moment, and they are Oh So Comfy, A white piece of clothing is such a good investment as you can wear it with any pop of colour you like. Your in luck if you are ahead of this trend ladies, because this summer is the perfect time to show off your look.
These jeans are from topshop and retail at around €55 euro, but that price is totally worth it for the quality you are receiving. The white top below is from River Island and is only €13!!!! BARGAIN OF THE DECADE!!
